Aluminum Oldham Coupling

Protect your precision equipment from shaft misalignment with our aluminum oldham Couplings. The design consists of two lightweight Aluminum Alloy hubs and a center Cross Slider disc. This center disc slides between the hubs to absorb misalignment while transmitting torque with Zero Backlash.

Additionally, the non-metallic center disc acts as a mechanical fuse – breaking before your expensive motor or encoder does in the event of torque overload – and provides electrical isolation to prevent ground loops and noise interference.

  • EXCELLENT MISALIGNMENT COMPENSATION:
    The sliding center disc design allows for significant parallel (radial) misalignment compensation, far superior to rigid or jaw couplings.

  • ZERO BACKLASH: Precision-machined hubs and slider disc ensure no play between components, maintaining accurate positioning for stepper motors and encoders.

  • ELECTRICAL ISOLATION: The non-conductive center slider isolates the driven shaft from the motor, preventing electrical noise and ground currents from interfering with sensitive electronics.

  • MECHANICAL FUSE PROTECTION: The replaceable center disc is designed to be the sacrificial wear point. In a severe overload, the disc will fail first, saving your expensive motor bearings and lead screws from damage.
